The first dance:
The first dance in a wedding is no longer only a vivacious memory. Due to technology and home video, the first dance of the newlywed couple is often recorded and is available for posterity to view, tease, enjoy, etc.
You can choose the traditional Waltz with its elegance and flow or you can decide that you prefer a more alternative dance form. Your instructor can help you to find out which dance you prefer, and also guide you as to the choice of music.
Time scale:
It is important to prepare your first dance with the same care you plan other aspects of the wedding itself. Starting 4-6 months before the big day will allow you to enjoy the process of learning your dance. It will also give you time to choose your dance and your song and be ready before the “wedding frenzy” sets in.
We recommend private lessons to prepare you for your first dance. A private lesson is best since you receive exclusive attention and specifically caters to your needs. Dancing is actually great fun. It is a good form of exercise and it takes you away from the routine of everyday life.
Seeking the expert:
During the lessons we will help you decide whether it is best that you have a set choreography or whether a selection of independent patterns is better for your needs.
Also, footwear and freedom of movement are really important. Please bring these subjects up during your lessons. We will be able to adjust your dance to your costume so that you feel comfortable during the occasion.
